There are hundreds of different ranking factors that search engines, like Google, consider as part of their algorithm when deciding what results to return for a given search query. When you start reading all about SEO, and all the different opinions out there about it, you might begin to sweat and feel little uncertain. It’s hard to tell exactly how much your company should invest in this line of marketing. You’d like to have a full-blow SEO campaign so you can run with the “big guys,” but you’re concerned that you just can’t afford it or that you simply can’t dedicate the necessary resources to it. Check archive.org (Wayback Machine) or Screenshots.com to make sure the website has a clean history, particularly its most recent history. This has happened to me a couple times, so I look out for it now. If at any point it looks like the domain was home to a PBN site (private blog network), avoid it at all costs. It may have a pure spam penalty! One of the most frequently asked questions by fellow SEO consultants probably is: “What online marketing tools do you use?” Choose keyword frequency over keyword density.
Review your most important content on your site
Remember, there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to optimization strategies. For the most part, you’ll be relying on trial and error to pinpoint what works and what doesn’t for your brand. Meta tags are pieces of HTML code that can be added to the section of your web pages. Beyond the page title, the two most popular Meta tags are Meta Description tag and Meta Keyword There are some conflicting views about whether or not to use Meta tags and whether they actually help your search engine positioning. Regardless of whether or not it helps with your search engine positioning, you should use the Meta Description tag because this is what frequently appears below your website URL in the search engine results pages (SERPS). If your website can't be found on Google, it basically does not exist. It is very important to be listed on Google if you want to get customers through the Internet. Opening paragraphs shouldn’t be longer than one or two sentences. Make sure the thing you’re writing about is mentioned in the first sentence (i.e. your focus keyword or phrase). I like to bold the first paragraph to make it distinct. In short, you need to paint a vivid, unique picture of your product by not only describing it, but by answering the standard who, what, when, where and why questions.
Aligning Your Content
Develop SEO-enabled content from creation that is ready to deliver across all devices. Google is increasingly understanding what content actually means, rather than just what it says You should not try to‘trick’ Google. A general rule of thumb: If you have links in a menu at the top of the page, avoid duplicating those same links on the bottom of every page. Linking to the same page in the footer creates a hole for the link juice to seep out. So, how does Google determine site quality? Even the intent of someone searching the web on a mobile device is different from someone using a computer. The content must not only be shorter and more concise but it also must have a different message to cater to the different consumer intent. Generally speaking you want to use your keyword as the anchor text for your internal linking whenever possible. External linking (from other sites) shouldn’t be very heavily optimized for anchor text. If 90% of your links all have the same anchor text Google can throw a red flag, assuming that you’re doing something fishy.
Generate interest, give information or persuade
Gaz Hall, a Freelance SEO Consultant from SEO Hull, commented: "Authority is created over time. It can't be rushed." Do your maths - its one of the primary resources for this sort of thing. Its as simple as KS2 Maths. Really! Links and more commonly known as backlinks to all SEO marketers are the soul of the Internet when it comes to forming a successful digital campaign. If there is a way for websites to interact with each other and gain benefits out of these transactions it is through backlinks and their version of monetary gain is earning link juice or website authority. Like the real world, the more juice or authority you have, the richer you get. You’re ultimately looking to rank for keywords that will bring value to your business (i.e., those bringing traffic that will convert into leads and customers). You, therefore, have to target keywords with relevant intent. Google’s web indexing system favors recently updated content, especially for time-sensitive searches. Over-optimization is proof that there can sometimes be too much of a good thing. Improving your ranking for certain online keywords is ideal, but mutilating your content by stuffing keywords into everything you write, or building way too many links with the same anchor text will not only look unnatural but also hurt your SEO strategy.
Use broad keywords to capture leads at the top of the purchase funnel
The goal shouldn’t be to generate links, it should be to generate buzz or discussion; to share knowledge or data or other insights that we know our audiences (and prospecive customers) will find valauble. The truth is that working on the search optimisation for your website is not a guaranteed source of traffic. SEO basically works by predicting and guessing how the Google algorithm works (because no one can be completely sure) and then using that information in order to engineer your website to get the maximum number of hits. It means gaming the system and this in turn can allow you to‘trick’ Google into believing that your site should be number one. Use it before it ceases to be an enabler of competitive advantage. Think of outreach as a brand awareness campaign for your most authoritative audience.
Monitor Brand Mentions
In Google search, a headline with a relatively high click-through rate will receive a ranking boost since it indicates that the post is more relevant for that search query. By following this advice, you will save a lot of hard work and time creating high quality content for poor quality sites. As other search engines become the default Web browsers instead of Google, it makes sense to optimize for those search engines as well. After signing for a Google Analytics account, it is important to carefully set your Google Analytics so that all visitors’ actions are tracked down for analysis. Don’t just stuff your keywords in willy-nilly and then tack on your city and state (or region or county) at the end. Remember that in addition to conveying to Google the terms for which you want your business to be relevant, these are the phrases that your prospective customers will see when they’re searching.
